3RD & 4TH GRADES
OUR MOTHER, MARY
By Elizabeth Rose Robinson
April 23rd, 2024
In a town very far, under skies blue and bright,
Lived Mary, so gentle, a beautiful sight.
Every May, on the day numbered with twenty-four,
We remember her kindness, and oh, so much more.
Mary, our Mother, with love so profound,
Helps Christians and children from all around town.
She listens with care to each prayer we say,
Guiding us gently in her loving way.
Her feast is a day when we sing and we pray,
Thanking her deeply in our special way.
We gather in church, hearts joyful and light,
With colorful flowers, that shine clear and bright!
“Mary, our Helper,” we joyfully call,
While she watches and cares for us, one and all.
With faith like a shield and love like a crown,
She blesses us softly, never lets us down.
So every year, when her day, it comes near,
We think of our Mary, forever dear.
Her love wraps around us, like the warmest of arms,
Our Mother, our Mary, who keeps us from harm.
