Take Care of the Earth!
By Elizabeth Rose Robinson
March, 2025
The ocean is blue, so deep and so wide,
But trash in the water makes me sad inside!
Pick up your litter, don’t let it float,
Let’s keep the seas clean for each fish and each boat!
The trees give us air, fresh, clean, and bright,
But cutting too many, that just isn’t right!
Plant a small seed, let’s grow many trees,
Let’s make forests strong, hear the leaves in the breeze!
The air should be crisp, not smoky or gray,
So let’s walk or ride bikes on a bright sunny day!
Turn off the lights when you’re not there.
Save power daily, at home, everywhere!
The Earth is our home, so let’s do our part,
Keep it clean, keep it bright, be smart from the start!
Recycle, reuse—don’t throw it away,
We will make a better world if we love it this way

The World is Amazing!
By Elizabeth Rose Robinson
March, 2025
The world is so big, so strange and so bright,
With wonders that sparkle by day and by night!
From mountains so tall to the deep ocean blue,
There’s magic around us in all that we do!
The stars in the sky shine like diamonds up high,
They twinkle and shimmer and light up the sky.
Planets keep spinning, the moon takes its turn,
Space is so endless—so much we can learn!
The forests are filled with the rustle of trees,
With creatures that swing, crawl, flutter, and freeze.
From towering redwoods to jungles so thick,
Nature’s a puzzle with pieces to pick!
The oceans are giant, they crash and they roar,
With creatures that swim from the surface to floor.
Jellyfish glow, and dolphins can leap,
Sharks and sea turtles dive deep in the deep!
The deserts are golden, so hot in the day,
But cool in the night when the sun fades away.
Cacti stand tall with their arms full of spikes,
Lizards and snakes take long desert hikes!
The Arctic is chilly with glaciers so white,
Where polar bears roam in the bright northern light.
Penguins waddle, and seals slip and slide,
Snowflakes keep falling, so crisp far and wide!
The earth is electric with thunder and rain,
Lightning can flash in a sky full of pain!
But after the storm, when the raindrops are through,
A rainbow appears in red, green, and blue!
From valleys to rivers, from sky to the sea,
The world is just bursting with wonders to see!
So open your eyes, take a look all around,
Amazing things wait in each sight and each sound!

Not Just Survive, but Thrive!
By Elizabeth Rose Robinson
March, 2025
He was different ’cause of this, and she was ’cause of that.
The others, they made fun of him. He wore a special hat.
They never had a clue that this was part of his religion.
They never stopped to ask him or allow for his opinion.
She was different too because she spoke a “special” way.
The children imitated her; made fun of her all day.
Little did they know that this would give her so much pain.
And then one day she stopped, and never spoke a word again.
Another student didn’t wear the same clothes as the others.
They were so poor, that he would wear the clothes from older brothers.
Because his dad had cancer, he did not live happily.
And other kids would tease him, that’s the way life seemed to be.
And me? I, too, remember how the children bullied me.
I was half Canadian and Mexican, you see.
I recall the words they called me each and every day.
I couldn’t figure out why it was odd to be this way.
I wonder how much fun it is to be somebody’s bully.
Can’t wrap my head around it, never understood it fully.
I know some bullies have some insecurities inside.
I wonder what their issue is or what they’re trying to hide.
This kind of immaturity is very clear to see.
I’m proud that there´s no bully living deep inside of me.
I know that we are different. Thank God the world’s that way.
So, I hope the bullies listen, to what I have to say…
Appreciating differences can be so marvelous.
An effort from humanity, and that means all of us!
Instead of making fun of different things and all of that,
loving all our cultures is where it’s really at.
Imagine all the people, as John Lennon liked to say.
Loving and appreciating every single day.
Our essence is what makes us proud and glad to be alive.
To live this life so wonderfully…not just survive, but thrive!
