About me

Ely Robinson

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, to a Mexican mother and Canadian father, Ely moved to Mexico in 1981 where she married and had 2 children.

Ely Robinson started off her career in education in the 80s as an English teacher in Zihuatanejo, Guerrero, at the Montessori School and later at the Nautilus School, Acapulco, as a teacher and later on Coordinator of their new Jr. High.

In the early 90’s her family moved to Pachuca, Hidalgo where she was a Gr. 5 English Teacher at the Colombia School, and also taught and created an English Program at the Eduard Clapared High School.

After moving to Boca del Rio, Veracruz, Ely became the Gr 2 teacher in 1996 at the American School of Veracruz, and after 1 year of teaching became the Director of English for the next 10 years.

In 2006, Ely retired from teaching to join Scholastic Inc., Mexico as their Education and Sales Consultant in 28 provincial states and continues to do so to date.

She has been writing poetry since she was 15 years old and began inviting the children of Mexico to become illustrators for her poems. This free activity has become the “POEMS AND PICTURES” contest which takes place in many schools throughout the country. You can see information on how to participate in that section of this website.

Miss Ely now resides in Guadalajara and continues not only to put Scholastic books, decorative material, platforms, math curriculum in both English and Spanish, into the hands of Mexico’s children but also teaches teachers in schools throughout the country how to write poems, reading comprehension exams, tests, as well as, any subject you may need further information on.

Not only that, but she has also had a hand in creating successful, interesting, and complete English programs for schools wanting to transition in starting up a Bilingual curriculum at an accessible price for their families through her ENGLISH PROGRAM SUCCESS project.
